GREETINGS ~

We Americans have rode on just about all numbers of wheels. We've rode on one wheel with the unicycle, two wheels with the bicycle, three wheels with the trike, four wheels with the automobile, six wheels with dump trucks and box trucks and eighteen wheels with semis. But here we are highlighting the two wheeled variety.

Long before we had the luxury of driving automobiles, we rode bikes. All through the 1800s European countries like England and France used bicycles for most of their local transportation needs. Sometime around the later 1870s the craze hit the U.S.

Early bicycles, like most machines of the period, were raw and sort of crazy looking. At first people could not understand how you were suppose to balance on two in-line wheels. But we managed to do it. Bikes have been used in many applications. They have been used by police, military, mail delivery, package delivery, recreation, etc. But mostly bicycles have been kid's most often use for transportation. Let's face it, kids can't drive so, unless they want to walk, they ride bikes. Some are fancy, some are rusty. But whatever their condition, as long as the wheels turn, that kid is in Heaven.

This blog is dedicated to the bicycle rider. In all aspects of their use.
